WEEKEND GETAWAY | TRAVEL GUIDE
7/16/2017
Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in
While being on the road these past few months, traveling from Cape Town to Johannesburg to Mosselbay and back to Cape Town, I came across a few bumps in the road (I am not talking about surviving the first few weeks of school). For example, not knowing what to pack for a weekend getaway or how to survive a two hour flight next to a complete stranger who snores when he sleeps.
Have you experienced some of these bumps, well then keep reading!

HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF BUSY IN FLIGHT
When you are on a airplane for 2 or for 24 hours, you need to keep yourself busy somehow…
Here are some ideas on how to keep yourself entertained:
Read a book
Get some work done (If on business)
Sleep
Watch a movie
Listen to music
Sometimes talking to the stranger next to you also works…if they are nice and willing to talk to you.

WHAT TO WEAR IN FLIGHT
TIP : If you are flying for a long period , lets say for 12 hours... your jeans are going to irritate you within the first few hours. Would you rather prefer being stylish or comfortable? Remember this, whether or not you're dressed in jeans, you are still going to look like you haven't slept in a year when you leave the plane.
What I prefer to wear:
Comfortable sweatpants/shorts - Adidas, Nike etc
A comfortable t-shirt - H&M, American Apparel, Urban Outfitters
Sneakers - Converse, Adidas, Nike etc
Bring a jacket along (I won't recommend leather or denim , unless you find them really comfortable),sometimes your flight can get chilly.
